Prince albums you pretend don't exist

We all know (even if we don't all admit)that Princes output can range from a a beautifully tarmaced motorway to a bumpy farmtrack (mostly in recent years) but what are the real potholes in the road you avoid, those albums u own but wish u didn't or those u just won't buy and would rather they hadn't been made.

The same 3 that u mentioned, plus Graffiti Bridge(it would have been better if it was just him on that CD, not everyone else and it included God Is Alive), ONA, Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic, PE, 3121, TRC, and Musicology!!!

Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic for sure. I listen to it every once in awhile, but it's hard to go through it.

Exactly imago...I was scanning by cd collection for some tunes this morning and thought "wooah...I'd completely forgotten about those". But equally I sometimes think why the he'll haven't I listened to this for a while - dirty mind, controversy and parade being the 3 main ones

Musicology and Planet Earth. after 16 years of adoration i thought it would
be near impossible to be left so cold by a prince album that i would not be
in the mood to pick it up and play it at all after the first week. it was a shock
that it happened not once but twice in the span of 3 years.

Ive been onthe edge of that feeling since perhaps New Power Soul with a few excetions (it's when his falseto singing became 'out of tune' style instead of that crisp Scandalous voice). I'm actually at the stage where I'm thinking if I buy Lotusflow3r then I'm a fool for not learning

I guess that I pretend that, "Yellow," doesn't exist. I absolutely love it.

I know that Prince has redone some of the songs on this, and given some songs to other artists, although I would love to hear new versions of: ~Spirit ~Open Book ~Uh Huh. cool

There really are not any that I pretend do not exist because for me, I find at least 2 gems off every last album.
However...I have a few that I rarely listen to...
One I have not spun in the player for a minute is Karmasutra.

They are both 2 very fine examples of half-baked albums. Prince even said that ONA was a demo and as for the Vault it's clearly contract filling dirge.

But that's just an opinion that some peole share and some people don't....if anything it illustrates how Prince is able to live the lifestyle he does ...that and selling Loutisflow3r for over £30

Me too...d&p has the edge over Gold...probably the last time I bought a Prince album that didn't have tracks that I could happily skip everytime.

Some people won't like them because it's too commercial but for me it was the pint before he shackled himself with 'regret' and tried to censor his past. Also the last time somebody was able to rein him in to avoid the resulting self-indulgence

diamonds and pearls, i can understand. the prince songs are good enough
but the production and the rapping makes the album as a whole pretty much
the one that aged worst of all his albums imo.

but why the gold experience? i can see how some of the tunes have aged
pretty bad as well but the guitar tracks and the more timeless funk on
it is straight up some of his best material.

what is it that you don't like about it?
