Madhouse - Tell me more

Is it worth bothering with? I know its from around 1987 so I figure it must be verging on decent for a side project. However, the CDs are still far from cheap - especially with the ONA Live to buy.
So, who likes 8 and 16 - and whats so good about them?

I personally love them. A very interesting jazz project. I used to like Madhouse 8 more than Madhouse 16, but now Madhouse 16 is growing on me. It may not have the frenzied drum/piano/sax solos that 8 has, but it has a unique approach and style to it that I'm really starting to like. The sleeve says "New directions in Garage Music", and I think this is a good definition.

If I were you, I'd buy the cassettes or records, and if you like them enough, bid on the CDs and hope you get them.

I love all four of them.

Madhouse 8, 16, 24, and the "other" 24.

you are the inventor of the ACU JACK! lol.

I had to have my copy of 16 laminated, so when I was done workin' it, I could put it in the dishwasher and it would be as good as new.

Oh and the music is good too. If you are a fan of good jazz, you'll think the album is silly, but if you like Prince, you'll enjoy it.
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

Did Prince really play everything on this except for horns? I just listened to "4" from Madhouse 8 for the first time and was completely blown away! I have been floored by Prince's genius' once again.

unfortunately, the cover chick made me turn the album from a jazz album to a jizz album.

He really did play all the instruments, except for horns and a synth-solo by Matt Fink on "2" (source: the biography "DanceMusicSexRomance Prince: the first decade" by Per Nilson).

So cool, I am just surfing the web for Madhouse and found this site:

http://www.thecdplace.net/cdplace4.html

It actually says that my Madhouse 8 cd is actually worth at least $ 95!
and I bought it on eBay 2 years ago for $ 28!

Additionally, he recorded the entire album in a mere four and a half days.
