man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Arrested Development samples "Tennessee" from "Alphabet St." in their song "Tennessee"

Freedom of Soul samples "Dorothy Parker" in one song, forget the title. It's from the album Caught In The Land of Time

MC Hammer liberally used "Soft and Wet" for a song of the same title, as well as "When Doves Cry" in "Pray" (which I loved at the time).

Isn't it Missy Elliot that samples the scream from "Gett Off" in a song?

PM Dawn covers "1999" on the album Jesus Wept.

They also sample "Let's Go Crazy" guitar solo in some song that escapes me. I've tried finding it in my PM Dawn stuff, but can't seem to locate it.

There isn't a musical sample of "The Ladder" in 'Pac's "I Get Around". The credit is there because of the following lyrics:

"You ask why, it don't matter, my pockets got fatter
Now everybody's lookin for the ladder"

The music sample on that track is from Zapp & Roger's "Computer Love".

Also, "2 Live And Die in LA" doesn't sample Prince's "Do Me, Baby", but Meli'sa Morgan's cover version.

Digital Underground & Tupac's track 'Wussup With The Luv' samples 'The Ballad of Dorothy Parker', that's one you missed from your list.

I agree, but it shows how much love 'Pac had for Prince. Matter fact, I had a long conversation with Johnny J (main producer of All Eyez On Me, RIP Johnny) about how he and Pac were both big Prince fans, when I interviewed him at his studio in '06.

Any of y'all here that are Pac fans should check out my tribute to Johnny, you can peep it at http://www.s-endz.com , click the pic that says "Johnny J Remembered".

Good point. I've only heard that album once or twice, LONG LONG ago. I would've never remembered that one, yet somehow I knew he had probably sampled Prince more than those couple of times.
