What ever happend to the new masters project?

Will Prince ever release new versions of the Albums that Warner Brothers own?
That would be cool to hear how the New Prince interprets the old Prince.
Alanis's Jagged lil Pill Acoustic was awesome.

Are there any other artist that released new version of old albums?
We all want a big hit again because
we want to relive the Hysteria & Pandemonium we experienced
when Purple Rain was Hot. Actually, he doesn't care if it happens again or not.

I'm glad he didn't do it. It would have been horrible.

It was the unwitting victim of Prince's teeny-tiny attention span.

Apparently they were completed, IIRC they had a party at PP to celebrate it's completion and it was announced on the NPGMC website (or whichever one it was at the time), that he'd just finished 'Soft & Wet', doing the albums in reverse order, this being the last track. There was also a 'best of' this material up for release sometime after this.

Search the old threads, there is a little more detail.

I thought he was the legal owner of his masters again (or in the near future ?). So he probably will release the unreleased masters when he feels to it (which means never).

it would be nice if he played an exclusive concert where he plays only unreleased songs and then release the whole damn thing. but that would be too good to be true.
