How many prince gigs have you been to, numbers please!

I went to see prince for the first time on his 21 nights in London for 4 nights....no matter how many times i went back it was a brand new experience and i was always personally gutted when it finished.

Five times. Lovesexy - Act1 - Jam of the year - Musicology - 21nights - 21nights aftershow.
My one regret is to see only one 21nights concert. I only stayed in London for couple of days. Well, I got to see the man in the aftershow and for me that was a unique experience.

only 3 times.
first time i was 17, saw him at the united center in chicago.
in 98 i saw him at the aaragon ballroom-all the shows blew my mind but this one was AMAZING!!!!! i was 2 people away from the stage...
in 03 or 04 i saw him in the bay area, CA.

it was a very short and boring setlist, uninspired show, the big hits with only a few new songs, the Batman songs, especially Batdance were horrible (imo), it was held in bright daylight, outdoor arena, no atmosphere at all, Prince was in bad mood, so it seemed, the audience were very lazy, didn't cheer much, in the second part of the show The Game Boys did what they could to get the atmosphere up, it didn't work, Prince left after only plaing a little more than 1 hour. I was really disappointed, I had so high expectations to this concert after seeing the Lovesexy show, I was even dressed as a "Partyman" - the gemini look from the Partyman video, I made the purple jacket myself, had green hair and white colour in half of the face too. But it was a very bad live experience,

later I saw on tv the show from Tokyo, this was actually good, much better, The Question Of U/ Electric man, Partyman and the encore were great.

but the show in Gentoft, in bright daylight, were without any atmosphere at all.

Diamonds & Pearls, Hamburg Germany must be in 1992!

Well, we both were at the same concerts in:
Den Bosch Holland 1995
and
Köln/ Cologne Germany 1998

But why weren't you at the Aftershow Party in Köln?
It was announced through the speakers at the end of the main show. Perhaps, because almost everybody thought it was just a dance party and not another concert show with Prince & The Band, Larry, Candy.
It was my first and only Prince Aftershow and it was fantastic!

you are right about D&P... it was in 1992 - not 1991 smile

I was not at the Cologne 1998 aftershow becuz I was travelling with a bus from Denmark, and we couldn't agree going to the aftershow, the driver of the bus agreed to wait for us, but 2 young teenage girls couldn't afford to spend the money, we suggested that we could pay for them, but they still wouldn't go - then the bus had to drive home, I was really disappointed especially after hearing the bootleg later, if I remember right Prince played a 26 min. version of Days Of Wild. And I wasn't there... sad

Good to hear you had a great experience there, Soulsurfer. I wish it was me... wink
