Not sure,but I love that album that you posted above ('Friends',1982) That's my favorite Shalamar album.


If they credited Prince,it must have been one of the late-80s albums,when Micki Free was a member.He was friends with Prince and jammed with him a few times in the mid-80s.Prince was even planning to have Micki appear in a movie that he was planning.

Great Band...Howard has a beautiful voice, and comes from a Gospel family. I would assume that Micki picked up a few pointers from Prince. Prince rubs guitar strings with everybody doesn't he?

Jody Watley and Delisa Davis were also members..."Second Time Around," is such a great song.

Another thing is...I have been on a secret investigation about "Guitar Pick," Earrings...

Now...I know that Micki Free wore guitar picks in his ear...and only Micki knows who he got the idea from...

It was definitely an early 80's thing, although if it goes back any further...Micki would have insight...just for the sake of knowing, it's a fashion statement that has grown slowly over the years. So if anyone can get ahold of Micki...Ask him...
