Prince: The Victim

Time and again, I've heard him sing songs and tell tales of other folk doing him wrong. But considering the foul shit he's put people thru (fans included), has he ever copped to doing wrong?

I know he's a hypocritical lil' dude, but gimme a fucking break!

It's rare but at least three times he has put himself in the role as perpetrator, namely "In This Bed I Scream", "Witness for the Prosecution" and
Strange Relationship."

He's human. Nobody's perfect. So what if he doesn't apologize for everything he's ever done wrong???

Maybe he's apolgized to those people personally and doesn't feel the need to constantly make songs saying "I'm Sorry".

Thank U...GOODBYE!! wink
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

Exactly. Not every part of his life needs to be addressed in a song.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I agree with "In this Bed" and "Strange Relationship," but on "Witness 4 the Prosecution," he actually claims innocence: "I am guilty of nothing...Whatever it is u think I did you're wrong."

But the last line the judge says: "Guilty! 7 years hard labor!"...so that negates his whole innocent plea, maybe. Maybe he was lying the whole time?

Of nothing but always wanting you 2 be there
Mama I swear I love u
I always have
In school I once traded chairs
If I couldnt feel u
If I couldnt be near u
i wanted what was yours
Now I just want u 2 care

I think people lookin in 2 hard.

Yeah, that's the one I'm talking about. He's guilty of "nothing but always wanting u 2 b there," but he clears himself of any real wrongdoing.

The other two songs, yeah, he cops to being the bad guy. Not on "Witness."

my thoughts exactly lol

they always give him such a hard time here for what is done/not done, said/not said...
I've only got 2 years of experience, so I can't necessarily back up my claim

when I reach 10 years, I still won't feel the sense of abuse people deal with here lol
that's just how Dreamy rolls cool with Prince, not against him

I stand corrected with "Strange Relationship" and MAYBE "In This Bed I Scream".

And once I think about it, "Purple Rain" might fall in line.

Point taken. But I also mentioned "tales told".

The latest being his "interview" with Tavis Shyly. The Girl Bros. were just having a good poke of fun at their old friend, and then dude got all thin-skinned with it.

Of course he's only human. But he's a human who had to "create his own universe".

Agreed on the first two. And on the other ish? Well let's just say the whole time he wasn't lying.

Sooooo... because he wanted to trade chairs (doesn't that shit end in grade school?) to be close to homegirl, she should care?

Got it. So sad. Poor Prince.

I think sincerely that he is usually the heart breaker... but if he sangs songs about that .... no one will feel sorry for him. So he sings like he is the victim so he relishes in people's sympathy for him, especially from the ladies. wink
