Visit Calhoun Square (Hennepin Ave and Lake St). There's a great BBQ joint in the back of it called Smokey Bones or something like that. They have blues bands there too. (
If you want to see the old Glam Slam club, it changed to The Quest, and is on 110 N. 5th Street. It still looks like the Glam Slam, but there is no Prince stuff in there (symbols, etc). The layout is still the same. I saw The Time there in 1997. It was great. Big place.

The rib place is Famous Daves.

The Quest no longer exists either.

The Quest is gone now too? Is it a different club, or vacant? It's been a couple of years since I've been there.

The building is probably still there. It's mainly an office building upstairs.

It has been gone for a few years. I believe it had changed ownership and name and that has since closed too. The building is still there.

Thanks beener and motherfunka. The last time I was there I saw Dinosaur Jr and it was still the Quest. I think it was 2004. Burned down? Wow. The Quest at the time still had remnants of the huge prince in the hardwood floor, but reconfigured into a stylized Q. I guess that's gone.

When I was there in 1997 there was NOTHING on the floor. The symbol was totally gone and nothing to fill it. Just a hardwood floor.

This replaced the Symbol (sans Quest text) when it became the Quest. It was in the same spot as the Symbol. It was there during the Dinosaur Jr concert that I went to. They obviously went to pains trying to fill the space that the Symbol occupied by making the Q/compass design

Oh I believe you. I'm just saying in 1997, there was nothing on the wood floor. I remember being surprised that there was nothing there, because when I was there in about 1993, when it was Glam Slam, prince was all over the place. It was almost like they just resurfaced the floor or replaced those boards to get rid of the symbol. They certainly might have put a Quest emblem there after my time there, seeing The Time.

The Time in 1997? I was there too.

Saw them a couple of years later at the Mill City Festival (not too far from the Quest). We had to run a couple blocks over to Prince's stage 'cause The Time's set ended as Prince's was starting.

NO SHIT?! haha cool. I was dead center in the balcony. Good enough place to be. I remember someone who kept yelling "SING THE BIRD!" near the stage. Morris was like "Yeah yeah shut up we'll get to THAT song later."

Terry Lewis was on the bass that night too.

I was on the main floor, somewhere near the middle. Those days, I was probably 3/4 drunk... I might have been the Bird guy. lol Thanks for posting that pic!

I wanted to see the symbol shaped drive way and tried to find it on Google Earth, with no luck. Is anyone else able to view it on Google Earth?

Just out of curiousity, why was the house demolished? Did Prince do that or a different owner?

Prince owns the property on Galpin, which is about a mile from Paisley Park, and he had it demolished. No clue why, but some searching on the Org would turn up some answers, and a few conjectures. Both the purple house and Kiowa Trail and the Galpin house have been demolished.

The driveway isn't shaped like the symbol, it's just the symbol in the middle.

for some reason just seeing the symbol and an empty plot of land makes me sad...

I'm too lazy to look for the original thread, but I mentioned in it that it was sort of sad to see the empty property where so much history took place just like the purple house on Kiowa Trail. Makes me wonder if he gets bored w/ Paisley Park that it'll come down too.

I thought about it earlier and I think he tore that stuff down because if he doesn't want it, then no one else can have it. He's a brat.
