on a scale of 1 to 10 how would u rate mplsound/lotusflow3r?

4 me lotusflow3r would be a 8 1/2 and Mplsound would be a 10 for sure so what do u purple people say

I was at a 7 for MPLS when I got it, but it's 8 1/2 now. And as for Lotus Flower it's at 9 1/2 going on 10 for me. It's funny how when you finally catch his angle on some of his sounds and lyrics, you go hmmm, that sounds pretty good!

i would grade mplsound much higher if it weren't for that opening combo
of songs i totally hate (tnbalm/cb) and the ballads all placed in the
middle of the disc weigh it down too much. shame, because the good cuts
are extremely good.

Like most albums it's a mixed bag. It goes from excellent (9/10) to poor (3/10). So unfortunately the low marks drag down the high ones.

If I forget about the poor songs then I'd say the following;

Lotus 8/10
MPLS 7/10

Combine the two (which detracts from them becoming an album as such) and I'd score the "release" as a 9/10. Which ain't bad and makes me more than happy with the new album he's given us. For 77 dollars I hasten to add (my wife would fucking kill me if she knew how many pounds that was I'd just spent on a new album that I can't even hold!).

I take it we are scoring so that 5 is perfectly adequate, with 7 being well above average and 3 well below? 9 becomes essential listening whereas 10 would be groundbreaking.

Or are we scoring in the manner that is so often seen by the press where 7 is average (50% in effect) and a 5 is to be avoided?

I love them both but I love MPLS a bit more. It would be a 10 if "Better With Time" wasn't on there. I like the song but it messes up the flow but not that much.

Prince.org is a cemetery where folks mourn Prince instead of celebrate him and his music. Last time I checked, Prince isn't dead yet.

So those of you that have scored either of them a 10 feel that nothing on that album could be better? The best Prince could do in the future is match that output? Are you new fans or old ones? If old how would you rate them compared to the old standards such as Lovesexy or Sign O The Times? Do you feel that they will receive the same public and critical reception as his greatest albums as they also must score a 10?
