Well, as it costs (depending on conversion rate) less than £50 to join the 'Lotusflower' site for a year and the 3 CD set (in a measly cardboard wrapper) was going to cost £30 in the UK anyway, it is pretty economical to join and receive the albums that way.

The Lotusflower site is not a bad deal at all for UK residents. I you are only in it for the download of three cd's there are cheaper ways to get it. (And legally as well, at least, here in the netherlands). | |

That was my first thought. Given Prince's reluctance to work with the music retailers with the Target deal, it's possible he's working on some sort of similar deal over here or worldwide. Letting the likes of HMV make so much off of his release would have annoyed Prince, I think. So look into the mirror, do u recognise some1? Is it who u always hoped u would become, when u were young? | |

If that's the case, then this maybe the most outrageously disorganised release that P has managed. ...And given his history, that's saying something. I mean, creating a situation where major retailers have no choice but to import stock, then legally force it's withdrawal because of a local release that the retailers weren't told about.

prince is losing a lot of money here, because most prince fans who cannot somehow buy the CV (and cannot afford the website) are probably downloading it for free and will never buy it. He should have released it worldwide on the same day to maximise sales. The only logical reason for doing it this way is that the non-US release has different songs or other material on it (like videos). but Prince never does things the obvious way. | |
