Pussycat Dolls and Chocolate Box

There's one little part in "Chocolate Box" that reminds me of the verse leading into the chorus for "When I Grow Up" from the Pussycat Dolls.

The last part of the chorus, when Prince says "She wants a B-O-X of chocolate every day...", the phrasing is very similar to the PCD part with "cuz see when I was younger I would say.....". Anyone else notice the similarity?

really, so you are big fan of the Pussycat dolls, that is what i call entertainment, it is great that Prince props their music and imitates it, shows just how influential they are, i am actually making a website called pussycatdolls.org and would like to take this opportunity to invite all you prince fans in the non music forum, and I stress the words NON MUSIC
If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

Sarcasm noted, but it's misplaced on your part. I never said once in my entry that I was a "big fan" of the PCD. In fact, I can't stand them. They're a cheap knock off of Vanity 6 any other salacious-wannabe girl group. I've heard that song everywhere I go sometimes. It seems to haunt me when I go out. But I've heard it enough to notice that similarity.

I dunno. It's like the whole comparison to BEP (another crap band): I just don't see it. "Chocolate Box" isn't my favorite track, but it sure isn't painful to listen to like...oh...ANYTHING by the PD! I don't see the similarity to "When I Throw Up" at all. barf

Considering that the whole breakdown in the beginning of F.U.N.K is a total rip-off or ode to Beyonce's "Freakum dress". And this notion that Vanity 6 was this great pioneering force is so played out already, Vanity 6 were nothing but Prince's extension of the music he couldnt get out at that time. Nothing more, to say Vanity was some sort of musical genius blows my mind
