I have been a hardcore fan since he started. I am ol skool. I was bought the 12" remix of Let's Work - when it was originally released! I met the entire original lineup of the Time in a record store autgraph signing when no one knew who they were opening for Prince on the Controversy tour. And yes, I had a trench coat with the studs and some baggies with the buttons down the side of the legs. I am not ashamed.

Everyone who knows me knows this so they talk to me as if I know Prince personally. THey will ask me what he is doing or planning and what he was thinking about - like I talk to him on a regualr basis. Dumb sheet like when will he tour and will he come to their town and why was he wearing a pink suit.

It always annoys me. What makes them think I know anymore than they do if all I do is see what is in the media liek everyone else. I am not one of those obsessed fanatic who have to know what he had for breakfast last week - and can actually repeat it on demand. One guy asked me if Prince was still wearing those bikini drawers. I just busted him in the mouth and walked away.

No-because I'm past the age where I'm trying to convert people into Prince fans If they can't appreciate genius for what it is then I don't really give a shit anymore I like him and that's all that matters

I used to be annoyed easily but I dont give a damn. I still sing his songs and play them and then whomever is around me will be like "Girl, who is that?" And I just give them a look like: "Lame"

I almost put studz on a purple coat that I bought at about 15 years old in a thrift store in Mississippi. I didn't...and I still have that vintage coat.

During the Superbowl rehearsals I told one of my coworkers about the time I met Prince in Vegas. His idea of a joke was to tell everybody in the office that I know Prince personally.

To this day I'm still explaining to new employees that I don't know him.

No - quite the opposite, in fact. I annoy them. Prince trivia I bring up when no one really cares, constant Prince music rotations in my car, auto rewind when watching the Superbowl half-time show from months on end. I sometimes wonder how my girlfriend and friends can put up with me.

I'm wondering how they put up with me... my habits are pretty annoying.
