U must not like urban Prince much. That song kicks major ass.

define urban prince...or, rather, provide examples.

i think the black album is awesome, i think most of the gold experience and prince are awesome. i love his funkier b-sides like scarlet pussy, irresistable bitch, etc...

i just think that "trying too hard" sound on newpowersoul, most of emancipation, and this new release sound lame to me.

I thought of Emancipation as well...

CD version when in the car - nasty!

At home, live version c/w video - funky shoulder drop and expert use of shades!
then we'll try to imagine... what silence looks like

I like both but listening to the song (CDs) in the car "on blast" -- can't beat it.

Hey, did anyone catch Prince's dance steps on Leno on this song? Priceless. biggrin

The one on Leno or the album version?

I like the version on Leno better, the way Prince sings certain passages and the slightly different background beat. Another reason I prefer the version on Leno is that it's as long as it should be. The album version is way too long, nothing interesting happens the last half of the song on the album.

That Leno version does not do the song justice (ina live setting that is). Other recent live versions are vastly superior.

hahah! my favorite records are lovesexy, the truth, artwiad, sign o'the times, and, prince, trc. i don't know if that helps...

The Truth is one of the worst albums Prince ever made imo.
Animal Kingdom is the worst song Prince has EVER released, it´s abysmal ! I am afraid to get ear cancer when i listen to that lol

And believe me,it´s not just me...

i agree with you on animal kingdom, lol. that is a hot mess right there. but man in the uniform, other side of the pillow, the truth, dont play me, welcome to the dawn, dionne...i mean, honestly, every other song is top notch quality with superb songwriting and melody. songwriting is something prince has become VERY lazy with in recent years, imo.
