Anotherloverholenyohead V's Mountains Two awesome songs from a classic album.
Mountains is my pick of the two and also my favourite Prince 12" (such a shame it wasn't included on the Ultimate collection).

Mountains (Extented Version 10:03). It's a trip. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

While I appreciate both, Anotherlover is the winner. It has a little more punch.
Also for sentimental reasons, it was the first song I learned on guitar, Am, C, D and that very weird C#7 that signals the beginning of the vocals. That last chord shows us Prince experimenting with chords and harmonies, that was so typical for the late revolution era. Brilliant. Also seeing him perform Anotherlover at a fantastic aftershow didn't hurt either...

Just realised that both songs also had excellent music videos. I love the live performance of Anotherlover which was recored on his birthday in 1986 in Detroit. The magic carpet ride on the Mountains video really complements the song (this is also shown at the end of UTCM).

Mountains, if only for the annoying title and use of the word "hole", which subliminally reminds me of an ass-hole. However, the "there's gonna be a riot...if ya don't clap your hands" bit is wicked.

I've got the making of the video for Mountains. You know, where the director yells, "playback," music starts, and they are all in front of a blue screen doing their thing. They stop a bunch of times and re-start. It's dated April 16, 1986. For me, it's about the coolest, rarest thing I own.

Mountains is such a great video. 1986 was the time I started getting interested in music. Mountains was song which introduced me to Parade and from there on I became a lifelong fan of Prince
