I used to think the script for Purple Rain was totally based on his life.

When I was a kid, Prince was too.

I thought he loved Doritos (because he had a bag in the movie), and it's the only chip I ate. I also read that he loved strawberry shakes, so it's the only shake I ordered from McDonald's or anywhere.

I used to think he was Michale Jackson's long lost brother.... my mom (MJ fan) would say "No he's just Prince and he's weird now go in their and play your BAD cassette" I guess mothers don't always kno best

Prince is only a couple years older than me but the first pic I saw of him was a grainy newspaper photo. I thought he was one of the Sylvers.

I used to think that virtually every woman that he worked with was a girlfriend. In retrospect, that probably wasn't far from the truth.

I only listened to his music.I did'nt know anything personally about him,or his life,so I did'nt have anything to believe true or false.

Before I started listening to the music, I used to be like every other "colonized mind" and actually believed the infamous 'rib removal' rumour.

I was about 20 when I first heard of Prince.

So I guess when I was a kid I thought that someday my Prince would come

And I was right

When I was little, I just thought he was weird.

But then when I got into the music, I didn't care about any of the fuck'ry that my peers were saying about him.

Now that I've seen him in concert, I REALLY don't care what they think of him.

At age 11... i thought he was:

An Italian, he reminded me of Tav Falco or Willy Deville

I think I was about 17 when I first noticed Prince & I though he was gay - everybody I knew did too.
Funny how sometimes things that arn't true just stick!

Once a work mate tried to convince me that P stuck Gerbils up his a#@..le, that one I hever did believe!

Monique, I betcha that's where that story came from then. Back in those days, EVERYTHING was out for the public eye, so the rider for the tour was probably in the news somewhere, and that's where I picked up the story. It's like the big deal about Van Halen wanting to brown M&M's removed from their bowl before they even got to the venue. And of course Prince wanting a vitamin B shot before the shows (which he's not the first or last artist to recognize a good shot of B is a shot of energy.)

i thought he was fucking Wendy, but then i realized he was fucking her twin so I was basically half right.

I am glad I got to see & hear him at the same time. I was short bright with curly afro and so did he, so I naturally thought he was cute! It was alittle cause he was so alive and vocal on stage but off stage, he was shy & wouldn't talk.
