Oooh crikey. If I had to pick one I'd probably go chronological and say Come. It's a pretty solid release, good early 1990s Prince although technically they are all the one word titled songs he recorded when he dropped his name and started recording as O+>.

Old Friends For Sale is also a fan favourite (although it is clearly a contractual obligation). Again it's pretty cohesive cos of the piano bias to the tracks.

Chaos and Disorder also has some great tracks but Come is probably the most solid of the 3.

Agreed. Not that i particularly rate the record. However, having heard the alternate versions of songs (the rockier takes) it had the potential to be a screaming, nails in ya back multiple orgasm of a record as opposed to the dribbling trickle of knuckle glitter it became.

The rockier version of the title track bukake's all over the face of the more 'R&B' sounding version found on the album.

Error, Mr Nelson.

I remember one review said "'Come' is like a goat. The horns are nice but the rest of it stinks."

Copycat

"Chaos and Disorder"

Why? "Had U", "Dig U Better Dead" and "I Will" are great throw-away tracks.

Come is the obvious choice.....but with good reason, I find that the albums sound has hardly dated at all considering those that came after it like The Gold Experience and Emancipation (whose "plastic" sound dated far quicker than they should of!) My 2nd choice would be Chaos and Disorder (Love Dig U Better Dead and I Rock, Therefore I Am)...and the less said about Old Friends 4 Sale the better really cant listen 2 that album at all lol

Pretty safe to say it doesn't matter which you buy next as everyone has a different opinion. For me, I enjoyed Come and Old Friends 4 Sale equally, and really didn't care for Chaos & Disorder.

COME - without a shadow of a doubt. heavily underrated and one of my favorite Prince albums of all time. Almost every track on there is a classic.

Honestly, 'Space' alone would make it my first choice out of the 3 you posted. And it doesn't hurt that the rest of the album rocks too.

The "Come" album never reached (ahem) climax. Contains one decent track: "Letitgo."

You must buy Come ASAP. It will take a while to grow on you, so buy it and just listen when you feel like it. Once you get into the CD, the grooves are excellent. Except Orgasm and Loose. But Space, Papa, Come, are all fantastic. Then buy C&D. One of the most rocking Prince CD's, especially the first half of the album. Hope this helps...

"Come". It's more of a complete album than the other two. It's really an overlooked gem. Maybe in my Top five Prince albums. "Old Friends" is an underwhelming collection and "Chaos and Disorder" I barely remember beyond maybe two songs.
