One main reason: both have unreliable sources.

Yes, Perez keeps posting these saying he has the 'exclusive' after they've been posted & discussed on Dr. FB & here.

I don't know why you'd say that, what has Dr.FB been wrong about lately?

Perez is so vile and witless. If Prince is feeling it necessary to associate himself with a celebrity gossip blog, I wish he'd find a different one than PH.

It's called Viral marketing. It's cheap and gets the word out. Perez gets about 5 million hits a month which means people are reading about Prince and MAY actually go to target and BUY his album. That is the point of selling music right?

Exactly, same type of marketing advertisers do when airing their product during programs with high viewership, with a strong possibility it attracts consumers who "MAY" (like you stated) purchase their product. It's worth taking the risk. Smart marketing and its about business, to say the least.

That's very true.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

Wasn't the contest for the Gansevoort show in NYC in October, also promoted through Perez's site as well at the same time it was conducted at HQ/Org? Because I remember meeting a fan who won tickets tickets to that show from Perez's site. So who knows, maybe he gets the info from DrFB or they both have the same contacts. shrug

I dont really care where I get the info from, as long as I get it.

What I dont understand is why Prince's PR people dont post upcoming events on his offical site, or at least hints. Come on, these are smart people, they can create a "news only" section.

His shows would sell out faster and maybe people wouldnt talk so much crap.

I remember Prince's people came out to the "avalon" line and asked us where we got our event info. 99% of the crowd said "DR. FB".

The question should have never been asked. Event info should have been posted on Prince's official website. There would have been a hell of alot more people standing in line that night.

Prince's concerts/shows shouldnt been a "secret" or a last minute post. The majority of us are waiting on these shows and are the first to want to spend our hard earned $$$.

It looks like Prince got a PR team. I emailed Perez and asked if he swiped the news. He says it was fed to him from Prince's PR team.

Must be those ding dongs that did the Avalon show. Roger and Company. I dont remember.

Dr FuckedBarry and Perez I think are lame, but as Wahday pointed out, its cheap and it gets the word out.

I wish he would just do shows. And use his website for news services instead of all the other sites that in two seconds would bash Prince if something unsavory came out.

Well at least he has an official PR team, let's see how they do.
Trying to have high hopes I'd like Prince to be successful again cus Michael Jackson is gonna kill his 21 Night Reign

I just think smarter marketing would be finding other ways to get the word out without resorting to affiliating yourself with a scummy gossip blog. shrug

I hope he blows shit up with ALL new music! I'd LOVE to see a review where all the non-diehards are complaining that he didn't do any hits. I understand and appreciate (for the most part) that he has a vast catalogue of hits that he can not ignore but...once and a while he could say f*ck it! wink
