I expect some people will prefer the early/original/demo version and some will prefer the new fully produced studio version. Just like they did with...
The Dance Guitar Can't Stop This Feeling I Got etc etc etc Maybe Prince really loves the song and wanted to try to bring it to a wider audience (not many music lovers outside of us Prince nuts have heard ONA piano and voice). Mayeb the new version will be absolutely blummin amazing. Maybe people will go "give me a page on my 2 way? WHAT? is Prince still using a pager? GOD he's so OUT OF TOUCH! blah blah blah!" I can't wait! Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

It deserves to be reworked, because it's one of those things that just went off the radar for most.
Of course the ultimate in reworkings to me would be "Strangers When We Meet" by David Bowie, which simply just had to be included on two of his consecutive albums.

I was surprised to see this song on the list for MPLSOUND...and I'm curious to hear this new version but.....I'm betting I'll always love the original more. "not a fan" yeah...ok
