Star Tribune: C.J visits Toronto falls upon tidbit of Prince gossip

Prince can't escape

We had a divine dinner at Bigliardi's, where George Bigliardi's Vodka-laced penne recipe leaves me little hope that mine will measure up. Our second night out, we ejoyed culinary enchantment and celebrity gossip at the Centro Grill and Wine Bar. The Prince fodder was almost as gnice as the butternut squash gnocchi. (The gnocchi was so heavenly that I took the leftovers back to the Fairmount Royal York, stowed them in our hotel room refrigerator and unabashedly warmed it up for lunch the next day with the bathroom hair dryer. I was afraid of what the hotel -- Queen Elizabeth stayed there -- would charge to nuke my gnocchi. The dryer worked just fine and was rather ingenious, eh?) As you may or may not know, Prince's alleged current wife, Manuela Testolini, is from Toronto. Prince has reportedly bought a new place in the Bridal Path area, but I wouldn't impose on Scrawler to take me out there. Prince reportedly left the Centro staff with an unforgettable memory. Proprietor Tony Longo confirmed a report of Symbolina sipping a glass of red wine through a straw. A commentary on the cleanliness of Centro's wine glasses? Probably not. Every detail of this restaurant gleams. I suspect that Symbolina was trying to minimize the damage red wine can do to pearly whites. Delivery of Prince's straw did not go flawlessly. The sipping tool was presented on a plate, but it blew off and dropped to the floor just as Longo arrived at Prince's balcony table. With a face turned as red as the wine, Longo said, "I'll be right back with another one."

lol that's stupid.
hmm on second thought that sounds fun. I think I'll start asking for the waiter to bring me a straw on a plate. See what kind of reaction I get smile

If that waiter/waitress were smart, the straw would've been wrapped inside a napkin, lol
