i have found this picture of NYC...and i think it's part of inspiration of Prince website

yes.. the more i look at this the more i see alot of the same pretty good find.

The blue lights do look very similar.

I think he took it from the popular 8 bit video game from the 80's called Defender .

When I first saw the website, it reminded me of the original Star Wars poster.

as i said on another thread i think the inspiration is 'time'

as in the two rocks represent either the two tablets with the ten commandments or are simply raw earth - the beginning. the pyramids have always been his interest and represent another stepping stone in the movement of time and then there is the modern world with a city scape - naturally hed choose his home town. i think the shooting stars up to heaven represent this change in the world and are reaching to heaven.


prince has often said that he doesnt 'do' time and it means nothing, the fact that all three elements are almost on one plane shows they are one and the same, the lotus flower represents life, water usually represents sexuality but can also mean life and in the bubble at the centre is a diamond with his image molded within it. that bit im not sure of. ill think it over. diamonds are for ever etc and represent the passing of time which is why we have eternity rings etc, as for prince being in the diamond could represent his everlasting life, showing him as a part of the whole but could be misinterpreted? as a deity image

London has done for a few years as 'alternative' xmas lights, they are peculiar and can be seen for miles away as you approach London on the motorways, they look like ufos, i still dont think they are meant to be lights, like search lights but shooting stars up to heaven

Thus my reply that the central light in the Prince webpage isn't coming from the city but from Prince. Also, I think it would be hard stretch to say the blue lights (shooting stars possibly) are coming from the city since they cover the night sky and since it mentions on the webpage "An entirely new galaxy awaits."

I think we are talking at cross purposes, yes jaijai was referring to the lights sent up from NY, i was trying to point out that the NY pic's lights appear to have been duplicated and cropped to create the shooting stars on loutsflow3r, plus the light you said was coming from prince, i think is water pouring down over his bubble mixed with lightening and then flowing around and into the water below which becomes the water fall. i didnt mean the blue lights were coming from the city, i maent they are the shooting stars up to heaven.

the original poster wasnt saying the two pics were the same merely the NY one could possibly have been an inspiration for creating the scene on lotusflow3r as there are several similar elements including the horizon line, balance of the image, the use of the search lights as shooting stars.

That second pic only is NYC when the blue lights were put up, one year after the WTC tragedy, in honor of buildings 1 and 2 of World Trade Center and in memory of the victims. Sorry, but I just don't think that NYC pic has anything to do with the inspiration for Prince's website.
