So far I have not heard an apology from Prince about his websherriff bullcrap. Until then I WON'T buy anything from him or put money in his pocket in any way. However I am missing some crucial classic albums:

• Dirty Mind
  
• Prince
  
• 1999
  
• The Rainbow Children

Am I breaking my vows if I buy these used? As far as I can tell, no royalties go to an artist when purchasing used albums. This way I can replace those items and I won't be putting money in his pocket. I still feel shitty about doing it though

I'm totally not advocating this or suggesting it formally here, but there are cheaper, less expensive ways of cheating. I mean, if you were inclined that way.

I have bought "used" cds at the flea market. The discs are in excellent shape and you know what?..... no royalties go to the artist. These cds were bought brand new at one time by their previous owners so the royalties have already been paid.

Dunno about "cheating," but buying them used means you're buying them from someone (or a string of someones) who bought the discs new and paid royalties to Prince. So, you're not sending YOUR money directly to Prince, but you're supporting people who did!

Screw it - just buy them used and enjoy the music.

Just buy the damn CD's!!!! Used or new, just buy them!!!!! I brought The Gold Experience and The Black Album used and I have no regrets in doing so. In your case, I don't see the harm in buying a used Prince CD.
