21 Nights £7.49 at Waterstones

I'm listening to the CD and looking at the book. I got 21 Nights for £7.49 at the Poole Waterstones. There was one more copy, now thinking I should have got that too. I wonder if it's the same in other branches?

It's not.

Waterstones have a sale with 'up to 75% off'.

In the two stores I have visited, they are selling it for £30 i.e. they have not chosen to reduce it in the sale.

At 75% off, it's a decent price in my view. You wouldn't normally pay that much for a CD, particularly one with a couple of 100 pages for liner notes.

Well, maybe you could say... "I know they've reduced this item in the Poole store, so can you do the same here?". Invite them to phone Poole or something, 'cos, you know, for £7.49 it's reasonable. As you say, it's really a Live CD with a VERY glossy liner. The book is way too lavish for me. I should charge rent on the shelf space! CD is fun though.

It worked.

I visited one of their stores advertising "Up To 75% off"

The book (only one in the store) was marked simply at £30 with a "£5 off" sticker.

I asked if Waterstones priced their books in the sale, store by store, or whether their was a guide they followed. The lady said that they should be consistent across the UK, but sometimes they miss books, and she suggested I take the book to the counter and get it scanned.

I did so ... £7.49!

So I now have a pristine, sealed copy for a bargain price.

Thanks.
