The best is Morris and Apollonia at the club
m "Either someone put something in my drink, or you are the finest thing I have ever seen"
A "Excuse me?"
M "You look nice tonight" and then later on

M "You should see my place, its so nice, I have a chef Gino Scaffagrachi or something like that, In my bedroom, I have a Braasss waterbed"
A (Giggling)
M "Its not often I put my cards on the table, but I am going to make you LOOVEEE me"
lol
And then Morris and Jerome at the warehouse

M"You ladies don't seem to realise how valuable my time is, youre going make my boys look bad" you know the rest

"Lets have some asses wiggling, ahh! I want some perfection"

And then again walking down the street a few minutes later

Anomymous woman "Morris Day, where were you, I waited up all night for you , I am so tired of your shit, who the fuck do you think I am"
M "Jerome!" (Jerome picks up woman and puts her in a dumpster)
Woman "Hey what are u doing, Let go of me, let go of me you dickhead"
M "Such nastiness, lets go"

And Prince
(Storming into house) "Where are u?, WHERE R U!, ANSWER ME MOTHERFUCKER!

/\ You know the lake minnetonka part when Apollonia is getting out of the water and the camera is RIGHT ON baby boy's ass? nod Tora likes that.

Oh, and I like the part when he's runnin out of the club and Jill goes to get him. There was some neglected potential between those two characters...

If you ask a lot of men that question, it would be the minnetonka scene. Can I say so typical?

The initial meeting of apples and Prince at that mall, the gold bracelet

"Who gave it you, a person, male or female - Youre lying I can tell by your reaction, so you gave it to me, its mine, not yours anymore"
What apples should have said, 'give it back to me your slimy little creep, I need it to buy some crack' lol

The scene where his father is playing "Father's Song" at the piano in the basement and they have that little dysfunctional family talk and and his dad walks into the hallway and his head is against the wall and he looks insane and "Computer Blue" kicks in and The Kid is just siting there spacing out like he's loosing his mind. That's my favorite scene.

yes yes... coming next!

Popdaddy: I saw your BBQ pit up the street, looked pretty bad. Any Idea how it got that way?
Dad: You ever cooked BBQ professionally?
Popdaddy: Yeah.
Dad: Ever run out of time?
Popdaddy: I don't know.
Dad: (With Terror in his eyes) Never use Lighter Fluid.

Unless y'all can think of something funnier that has to do with BBQ

For those that have seen it... don't click.

My take on Purple Rain

That's right. Purple Rain is the only one that offers something for everyone. It's not just purely one thing. It has everything those others offer plus much more. It has the comedy, the funk, and campiness, plus much more.

the only thing purple rain has on the other films, is popularity, over exposure, and nudity . i would rather watch utcm or sign o the times than pr

Wrong. It has plenty of rock for the rock fans, powerful dramatic acting (Clarence Williams III), and titties. I love Sign O' The Times but it doesn't have something for everyone like Purple Rain does.

Where's the funk? There is plenty of funk. The Time provide pure funk in Purple Rain with Jungle Love and The Bird. Sex Shooter's funky. Baby I'm A Star is funky. Let's Go Crazy (the extended version that's on the movie) has got funk in it, too. Computer Blue's a mix of funk and rock.

okay that's the 1st time i've ever heard someone say let's go crazy is funk falloff

yes the time provide the funk but not from prince's side and if u were around that time when it came out, u would know that a lot of prince's r & b fans where complaining about the lack of r & b funk tracks that weren't on purple rain ..yes baby i'm a star has funk elements on it but it only got fleshed out in live concerts

Yeah, I was around at the time. I'm 41 years old. I was 17 when it came out. I'm not saying Let's Go Crazy is pure funk. The extended version of Let's Go Crazy that's on the movie and on the 12" single has got funk in it. The movie and album version of Baby I'm A Star has funk in it, too, and it was made much funkier on the Purple Rain tour. The Purple Rain movie provides a great mix of rock and funk in my opinion and I didn't complain about any lack of funk on the Purple Rain album because the Ice Cream Castles album and the Apollionia 6 album and the Glamorous Life album and the Erotic City single, b-side to Let's Go Crazy, made up for any lack of funk on the Purple Rain album. I'm not just a fan of the funky music, I enjoy rock, too.
