FREEDOM OF SPEECH Just as gays want to live their life and straights want to live their life...Just as long as no-one is harmed by actions... FREEDOM OF CHOICE AND just because someone doesn't agree with an aspect of your life, THAT DOESN'T mean they hate u, or they want to kill u, or they wish u should die or anything bashful. Everybody knows someone that does something (major or minor) that they don't agree wit, but that doesn't mean u hate the person. One of my closest female friends smokes and drinks, she knows I don't like it and depending on where she might b going out to hang, she won't invite me, it's a mutual understanding, and she knows I still have alot of love for her. Homosexuals don't need to feel threatened just because someone doesn't agree wit that specific lifestyle. I gots love for everybody  WOW! that was pretty cool. We just live in a culture of overly political correctness where u can't say shit for fear of somebody thinking they're rights are being violated, but at the same time the line has been drawn so dimly in the sand nobody knows whats an opinion or an insult/slur. However I must opine that we gotta stop tossing the word hate around so loosely!

You can't take his words or any others as the truth or the be all end all... It's just words ...nothing prolific I like what you've said here enormously. Trouble is, when you've been listening to a man and supporting him for many years and enjoying what he's been creating, to suddenly read that he actually thinks you're somehow second-class and don't deserve the same rights as other people and he's looking at you as some kind of sinner; well, it's hard to sit and listen to him anymore. I will keep saying it though; I'm really hoping that the article in question really was bullshit and the publication in question will publish an apology and Prince will, very quickly, make an official comment that he isn't that narrow minded. If it doesn't happen, then we can all come to the conclusion that he's a narrow-minded arse and doesn't give a shit who knows it. The Dr. Funkenberry post just doesn't put anything right. Whether he said the things or not, I'm getting very depressed at the amount of fans here who can't see just what damage his comments have caused. If he'd made racist comments, there'd have been a huge outcry and nobody would have supported him, even those who reckon he should be entitled to his opinions whatever they are.

I will follow this situation closely and see how Prince follows it too. If there's nothing forthcoming that 100% clears this up to my satisfaction then yes, I'll be gone and I genuinely won't be listening to this guy again. There are some things people say or do that leave you never feeling the same way about them again. This will be one of them if the situation is left as it is. I don't support anybody who considers me inferior to them, who feels I need to be somehow corrected and views me as someone who is a 'sinner'. As a case in point and somebody I've mentioned before recently. Some of Gary Glitter's stuff was great pop and extremely catchy. frankly many think it's ridiculous. here in the uk it's been renamed 'civil partnerships', and that's cool and all, but it can be argued it's not true marriage as the bible and the vast majority of folk who don't follow any particularly strict religion see it. it could be worse, he could have converted to something that would rather see gay folks put to the sword, and expressed that bullshit. not naming religions, but you know! everybody get a grip. Another brilliant post second only to the many I have made myself But seriously...you have civil partnerships in UK? Are homosexuals okay with that or do they have the same uproar as here in the U.S? I think we have 2 states that allow gay marriage and several that allow civil partnerships or unions for both gays and straights, the unions are identical to the legal benefits of marriage contracts in terms of property rights, hospital visitations, wills and testaments, shared health benefits etc. but gays & straights are hung up on the word "marriage". Is it that way in the UK? Are people hung up on the title as if it will change people's perceptions and opinions? just curious  Even in states where gay marriage is not allowed, gay couples can still get a civil union and walk into a willing church and have a marriage ceremony. Ceremonies are not illegal contrary to popular opinion.

Co-sign. But now he has apparently blurted it out (and I hope he can show that he really didn't), he's messed things up as at right now. More and more sites are reporting this latest controversy. Searching for 'Prince Anti Gay' on Google now comes up with even more pages than it did last night. This is all becoming an incredible car crash, especially with the perfume company suing him. Prince will have to pull a lot of rabbits out of hats to make this one go good. | |
