The song is both very cool and very philosophical.
It is probably my favorite from "Chaos and Disorder."

...there are so many great ways to discuss this song....the yin-yang in the 1st paragragh..."tell what time it was"....there are two parts to everything...male/female...night/day....life/death...good/bad...rich/poor....
..knowledge is power...what you know is whatt you know...
...being aware...of being vulnerable...
...what goes up must come down...
...people pray...but how many really want resolution?....
..God is very busy...that's why He has His army...angels...
...they all have jobs to do...and believe this...they are here to help us...all we have to do is ask and say thank-you....

I love the song and it has 1 of the funkiest transissions half way threw....like ever! Also I think its shows what a great writer Prince is as he uses metaphors and meanings instead of getting straight to the point. Meaning his writing skills are far more sophisticated than most

We are all physical particles that combine and stick together...and the amazing thing is that the imagination is the same way, yet it isn't visible until it has materialized.
Where is the imagination during gestation? Do dreams always live somewhere? Or do they have a death for some reason?
Is every dream born to materialize somewhere?
Do Black holes suck up the garbage?
I dunno.

The Same December is one of my absolute favorite Prince songs from the 90s and also generally speaking. It's rock n roll, it's catchy and it's got a message.

"U only know what u know..." Right on! It's time to get opened-minded y'all!

It's funny that so many don't like this album when it's got two of his best songs ever: The Same December and I Like It There.
