Perfume maker sues Prince over contract in NY

NEW YORK (AP) — A perfume company is claiming that Prince and his music publisher failed to honor a contract to help market a fragrance named for the album "3121."

The breach-of-contract lawsuit was filed by Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics Inc. in New York. The company says it licensed Prince's name, likeness and the album title "3121" to market its fragrance.

Revelations says it put $2.5 million into the project and agreed to pay Universal half of net profits from sales of the perfume.

But the lawsuit claims that since the launch of the fragrance in July 2007, Universal and Prince have failed to participate in various promotions for it.

Universal did not immediately return a call for comment. Prince's music studio in Chanhassen, Minn., did not answer several calls.

Maybe it's a good time for everybody to jump on the bandwagon. There are some downloads that I paid for over at NPGMC that I never got, and my credit card statement showed that they DID take out the money. Where's my lawyer! lol

I really like the 3121 perfume, I can't afford to buy any luxeries right now, but I'd hate to see the perfume disappear before I can get some more.

Why doesnt' he just release the ads that were photographed with that Chelsea Rodgers chick? I saw one magazine ad in '07 and then no more.

She's all of the "21 Nights" book anyway - shoot an ad with her in the maid outfit(21 Nights) and the 3121 cologne - and you get two advertisements for the price of one.

Heck she could be sneeking in his hotel room, and taking a shower when he gets back to the room, sort of the like the last few pages in the book (minus the shower smile ).
Steamed up bathroom, girl in a shower, 3121 perfume on the the vanity (the furniture, not the person), and 21 Nights on the dresser or bed as Prince walks in the room with either a sly smile on his face or a look of curiosity/confusion.

It's a cheaply made perfume that is guaranteed to cause allergies to people who have asthma or suffered from it in the past. wave I am allergic to it.
