What R Fan Clubz Today?

What R Fan Clubz Today?

An Organization like prince.org is where fanz can chat daily and keep up with recent happenings.

I don't know how far back anyone here has to go to remember writing to an address listed on the album cover, and that was acknowleged by recieving something in the mail.

I remember writing Prince's fan club 3 or 4 times years ago.

I recieved:
A black-n-whited postcard of Prince recieving a red rose on stage.
A large postcard of Prince wearing white lace, with the lace mask on stage.
I recieved 3 pictures of Prince...Two of them Prince is in the shower, one with clothes the other...barely. The other picture is that black-n-white of Prince on a bed, with a phone on the nightstand...Prince is on his stomache.

How many of U guys recieved anything from writing?
And do U believe that the idea of writing a musician and getting a postcard should be revived? I do.

I thought it would have been a good idea that 4 those that entered the contest to recieve a show at Prince's home, would have recieved a gold trimmed picture of Prince...thank u postcard. I still would like 2 know what happened to those postcards. cool

I'm surprised no one has said anything.
Have U ever written a fan club?

Sheila sent me her picture in 2005. Which was the first time since the early 80's that I had done that. I thought that was nice, I didn't expect anything in return.

I guess if u had a million fans it would be expensive to maintain, yet occassionally would be nice. It just seems to be a withering means of contact...
The internet is useful, but in a way, it steals pen-pals, as the typewriter has stolen a handwritten letter.

Anyway, I'm out of touch with what other musicians may do...
I wrote two other people as a young girl, and recieved their headshots as well.

Lynda Carter, and Valerie Harper. cool

When I was younger, I loved that show...and I just decided to write her and say, Hey I love the show...Ur funny...It was nice of her 2 reply with a photo.

Like I said, I've only done that 4 times. cool

Except with Prince, I wrote every time a new record had a new address.
