Prince & Mavis Staples

I know they worked together on Grafitti Bridge and "God Is Alive," but how did they start working together initially? Wonder if she was a musical/gospel inspiration 4 him hmmm They sound wonderful together-what else have they done?

Prince wrote a song for her and it started off like "God is coming like a dog in heat" and she said if God is coming like a dog in heat then i KNOW that he is coming...and the rest is history.

i remember seeing that documentary in the early 90s, she was not comfortable with that line but i guess she accepted it later. she was proud of prince and even prouder that this musical genius was black!
