Recording for posterity - what does it cost to have a vault? I just stumbled on the quote from Dr. F. about "Turn It Loose":

If I really think about this question post-Prince success...I think it costs about 15 minutes of Prince's day. Here we are in this big ole' empty room, starin' eachother down.
U want me just as much as I want U, let's stop foolin' around.~Prince | |

"recorded for posterity’s sake" This sounds strange, doesn't it - you record something with no intention of publication... Anyway, I wonder really what it costs Prince to record a song outside his PP studio: Studio time: $$? Recording engineers: $?? Equipment: $?? Musicians (if any Does anybody know how much this comes up to, say for one day of studio work? It doesn't have to cost Prince anything. I'm sure he can do it all at home. If he wants to use a commercial studio it could cost a few thousand a day. Why does he care? It's not about a return on the investment . .
