How does entertaining celebrities... ...help P's business model?

Maybe it's the same reasoning as any other celebrity endorsement for a certain brand or product. Perhaps P. is thinking, "Well, if the public sees Big Name Star X grooving to my music, that'll keep me fresh in the public consciousness and make them want to go out and buy my product."
It's not that The Joker's gay. What he is, is Batsexual. He'd be whacking it to Batsy whether our hero had girl parts or boy parts underneath that rubber.

Reminds people of what´s up. Many don´t really have any idea until they´ve seen him live. All those Paris Hiltons and young wannabes weren´t around in his heyday, and those who were...well, they KNOW what´s up but it´s always good to remind them.

Hey one hand washes the other. You say that like he's not one of them, Prince has been famous and is a bigger celebrity than a whole lot of the folks he entertains at his home. A lot richer too! How u ever gonna win if u let 'em all see your hand? -PRINCE

I would believe that Prince associates with others for business reasons that are also selfless. I know that "who ya know," can speed business up for everybody. Here we are in this big ole' empty room, starin' eachother down.
U want me just as much as I want U, let's stop foolin' around.~Prince

Now, how all this affects his business , I don´t know. Maybe it is not even supposed to at this point in his career. Then again, you know, in showbiz, it´s always good to be seen, heard, known, etc. You never know where the journey takes you to, and mingling with so many diverse people can be quite inspiring. Better than locking yourself up in your studio for decades, right ? A chance to hang and get down with those he consitters to be his equals. it certainlly is not us,

love He's made a choice! He doesn't like record companies. Doesn't like his fans. Can't come up with a solid album anymore. Fade into obscurity, or cash in on the celebrity status? Celebrity wins! Hob knobbing and rubbing shoulders while singing 26 year old songs is better for the legacy. It does more for him than the "TRC"/ "ona" era that doesn't register on the pop culture radar. Just an opinion. Have a nice day.

love My question exactly. Perhaps it's not for his business, but to make himself feel like a star. He's not creating music that's amping up his star power right now. Holding these little shindigs seem to fulfill that Sally Field-esque need, "You like me, you really like me" type of deal. He seems to be searching for validation from his peers. I guess he's at that age. Whatever gets him through the night. I still love him. Doing a Karaoke with folks that actually know his songs isn't that much fun, apparently. It's time for us to move this forward.

You could look at it like this, there is no business model. He likes to play music live. There's an event, he want's to play, he plays.
