Life 'O" The Party.

When Musicology came out...I thought 4 sure that "Life 'O' the Party," would have been the next single released...

It's one of those songs that drives me crazy because it isn't on the radio and deserved to be. The song is so fun that it makes me believe that the music business is more red-tape than it is about music for the people. Sad.

neither one would have been a hit imo. they're filler songs at best.
the closest thing in his catalogue to those songs are the rap ones

Yeah, the use of the James Brown song over his lyrics was a much better idea than the drum machine that is used on the cd.

I like the song, but I always though Dear Mr. Man and Reflection would have made excellent singles. Hell, damn near anything would have been better than Cinnamon Girl as a single.

Musicology is a very good album, and generally much under-rated.

but "Life of the party" and "on the couch"
are pretty dull

Yes really bad, Love & Lolita are just as bad though.
As bad as some of you think radio is, those songs would be laughed off the radio, ridiculed and Prince would be a laughing stock, good thing a wider audience wasn’t exposed to these,. Really.

Radio doesn’t mean much anymore so it’s really no big deal anyway.
