"Under the Cherry Moon" and "The Question of U"

..umm..is it just me or do these songs sound very similar as far as the music goes..?

yes. excellent topic!!! I've felt this way about those 2 songs 4 years. they have a simliar type of arragement but are both very goos songs

never thought about that.. but u can take the lyrics of one and sing them to the other song(and vice versa) ... they have similar melody lines...

There are a number of examples of similar songs. Damn U and Poor Little Bastard. Electric Intercourse and The Beautiful Ones (which I heard were debated about for the movie). Then you get songs which are obviously related like Come and 18 and Over. If I wasnt going to stop typing to watch "King of Queens", I would come up with a few more. Anyone else have any others?

"Manic Monday" & "1999" - almost the same melody.
"Shockadelica" & "Housequake" - Same damn Bassdrum as far as I'm concerned...
"Love Thy Will Be Done" & "One Of Us"
"17 Days" & "Screams Of Passion"
"Eye No" & "The Ball" (If anyone even dares to comment on this one...)
"If A Girl Answers Don't Hang Up" & "Lady Cab Driver"
"Lets Work" & "Head"
"Soft & Wet" & "Lolita"
"Chelsea Rodgers" & "it's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night" (ambiguous)
"2morrow" & "Emale"
"The Latest Fashion" & "My Summertime Thing"
"Kiss" & "Black Sweat" - the gated drums and guitar...


"Get Yo Groove On" & "5" - which in fact, he has segued live before but still not as good as "The Ballad Of Dorothey Parker" and "4" (I think?)

Then there's the obvious - "Irresistible Bitch", "Cloreen Baconskin", "Tricky"

and someone please agree that "Broken" is a more poignant continuation of "Gotta Broken Heart Again"!!!

Totally agreed about UTCM and Question Of U though.

I'm sure I can come up with more. I'm off 2 bed...

i think these 2 sound "similar" because of the time arrangement is the same or close 2 it being utcm is 6/12 and possibly question of u is 6/8

Didn't he also blend 'The Question of U' and 'The One' at some point in a performance? Made the two songs sound almost like the one - it was good
