"The Kid" within "The Man"

August 28, 2008

“The Kid” within “The Man”

This guy. Prince…walked on to the stage of life with a controversial dirty mind for us all to examine, shocking some of us with elaborate sex appeal.
The early 80’s Prince wore a purple raincoat, driving a little red corvette, into purple rainy days. We strolled through “Paisley Park,” in 1985, learning deeper thoughts from a growing artist living in America and both spiritually and politically sharing ideas about the worldly, “Pop-life.”
Prince kissed us with thoughts of love that were apparently ruling his mind as well as his heart, and then we faced the sign of the times with Prince’s concerns of the danger’s of drug abuse. Our strange relationship with Prince sat down at a higher minded table drinking starfish and coffee, meditating on thoughts of “The Cross,” with a musician we grew to adore.
The 90’s Prince was placing more pieces of a chaotic puzzle further developing from disorder. Each song was like diamonds and pearls placed in the hearts of worldwide friends, new and old. Prince’s freedom to emancipate his own emotions is engraved for future generations to experience this creative progression of a beautiful song writer.
As we party like it’s 1999 and rave into 2000, the following years are musically still rapping on the doors of listening hearts with the brilliance of “The Rainbow Children’s” collective ballad. The tender and affirmative spirit, that demands the “Everlasting Now,” may be shy of an evangelistic expectation of a preacher…although it is in fact the truth as an avenue of perception from a Father figure family man. Prince’s musical spirit certainly reaches for and captures children of the world with love for one another, the animal kingdom, and our fragile planet Earth.
Childish comments that follow Prince are most certainly expressed by the unfamiliar audience, that limits their understanding of Prince’s career to a business oriented flamboyant entertainer. Prince’s closest fellowship, are those that comprehend God’s love and his disciples. We are the listening spirit’s within physical skins that know that this is a world where purple princes are more than sexy musicians. Prince has laid down tracks that numerous musicians and fans respect more than the boy that laid down with his sister in one song, or a string of international lovers’ in another. Prince wears his romantic heart poetically on his strap, singing songs for faithful lovers’, along side of other flavors of ideas to stimulate the mind.
Prince continues to ripen his intellectual artistry with spiritual fruits offered through guitar mastership, persuasive piano, and vocal ability. A person does not have to be a “Musicologist,” to realize that “The Kid,” has grown into a spiritual man with a business minded bank account that started out with a guitar toted over his shoulder and a dime in his pocket.
Prince’s personal mystique and artistic lifestyle are a legendary example of the graceful maturity of a fine suited, “Man,” that walks in front of, “The Kid,” into the music awaiting us tomorrow. Tame cool .

First...Please pardon my "Comma Happiness.." English teachers have scolded me before on this issue, however, when my mind pauses for a fraction of a second, I know there isn't a punctuation to show that fraction as my mind is speaking. I also have a laziness with proofreading...I'm already onto another idea to worry about it.

Anyway...Last night I watched a documentary on the evening when Martin Luther King Jr. was assasinated on April 4th 1968...and the show was about James Brown scheduled to play in Boston that night, as riots were going on throughout the country.

I had never heard this touching story about the idea of cancelling the concert due to bringing possible riots into downtown Boston this night. The mayor decides to have the concert televised, and many returned their tickets...The Mayor did pay James Brown 60,000 that evening regardless of the refunds.

The concert opened with James Brown sympathetically expressing the saddness of the death of his friend.
The concert continues, and there was a time when people got on the stage, and people were scared that things could get out of hand.
James Brown made it loud and clear to respect eachother and Martin with peace.
When the concert ended without problems there were people that were surprised that the concert didn't go up in smoke, due to the fact that was happening througout the country.

I feel the need to address the statement that I made about Prince in this article...where I say..."The tender and affirmative spirit of Prince that demands the "Everlasting now," may be shy of an evangelistic expectation of a preacher...although it is in fact the truth as an avenue of perception from a Father figure family man."
(Which is a statement that could be altered...) and if it was, based on something that Rev. Al Sharpton said about James Brown keeping peace in Boston that night, is what I am trying to say about Prince.

Reverend Al says this.."U can argue with the means and the technique, but you can't argue with the result." Amen 4 that. One of the most profound statements I have ever heard.

This is what I feel about Prince.

I haven't read all of this yet Tame, but I believe
every man should have a little kid in him, and maybe
every man should have a little Prince in him as well...

It would be like a little bit of magic, no?

I don't mind...I know that we all have a child within...The article basically honors Prince as a man that has the innocence of a child...which is what the Bible teaches us about the nature of love.

Paying attention to nature is love in progress and Prince would make an excellent playmate. I'd love to give him a massive tree house to play in.
