Prince's last 3 albums have been flat as a whole

the rainbow children and one night alone was Prince's last respectable peroid. I know i've done overkill on the 80's on here. I'm objective about the fact that TRc and one night were at least done with confiction. Prince's last 3 abums have been tepid overall. I haven't listened too any of those 3 albums in awhile. I usually go 2 the TGE, emancipation, crystal ball or the truth over his 2004 and on material. cool

Your screen name is just like this topic.

Personally I can't stand The Rainbow Children... never liked it much... and never will. Nor am I a big fan of ONA. 3121 rates among my favorite period (top five in fact).. and I rank Musicology and Planet Earth favorable among his manymany releases.

We all have opinions and they are all subject to our own personal taste.

If you don't like the music... don't buy it... don't listen... what's the point of even discussing it for the 'billionth' time?

Every one should simply conceed that thier opinon is shared by some and not all.... one man's sugar is another man's shit... this subject has become a major annoyance... some of you need to get the fact that your opinons are 'not' facts... a lot of people have grown with Prince and do find joy in what they hear... Prince is 50 and likely will never make the same music he did 15, 20 or 30 yrs ago..... and.....

I am Big Daddy House Quake and I am FONKY!

next subject please.

Even tho I do agree with you that his 80's work are the best, that doesn't mean his new stuff is shit confused !

IMO, he was much more creative back then, but do songs really need to be "original" to be "good"?

And yeah, PLEASE stop with presenting your opinions as facts... to me you look like you're preaching! lol

If you can't enjoy a song just coz it's not THAT creative, well, Prince isn't the only creative musician out there wink !

The last 3 albums are flat...to U. I have enjoyed, liked, and treasured the last 3 albums, shit all the albums. They are just individual chapters in a long story. Some of u can't see the forest for concentrating on the trees. Get some perspective please.

surely he knows he's lost it.....last great song was 'the love we make'.....no defence for recent cds...lazy production...too much filler...up until graffiti bridge i used to get his cds first day of release when the shop opened.....now i buy them and nearly cry they are so bad.....
*awaiting stupid response+

Again I disagree with the topic, 3121, Musicology and Planet Earth were awesome imo, I loved Musicology(song), Lolita, Fury, Love, Cinnamon Girl, Illusion Coma Pimp+Circumstance, a million days, guitar, one u wanna c, Chelsea Rodgers to nitpick some and choose only my absolute favorites.

all of u are out of your minds. Prince has done more shitty albums then not in alot of years since his peak of 79 to 88. he maybe has done 4 solid albums since then, Prince's albums u usually have to skip 4 songs just to get to 4 respectable ones. PRINCE fanatics will say that everything he's done is great! Individual chapters my ass!! Not objective fans at all.Prince can do no wrong fro alot of fans on this site. I found it fascinating. If u ask level headed people they will say Prince hasn't done anything great in years. Peace!!

lazy production.. cringe inducing lyrics.. read all of those 1999 album lyrics and you've got sheer poetry without even hearing the musical side of things. tons of throw away, have baked, rushed numbers...but Prince is still great wink [Bait snip - luv4u] dewerede

dear rusty,

i have tried but 2 no avail 2 tell u time and time again that ur dislike of his latest material is only YOUR opinion and NOT FACTS. Just cause YOU don't like it doesn't make ur topic a FACTUAL one.

I look 4ward 2 the day u make a RELEVANT thread. And when that day happens i'll b happy that u finally got over urself.

But i know that day will never come

so in essence ur threads continue 2 beat a dead horse

(someone insert gif here please)
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Prince never does anything wrong
Prince has never put out a bad album
Prince has had tons of classic songs since 1990
I don't hit the skip button on any of his albums
purple rain, sign o' the times, dirty mind, and 1999 are over-rated
THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT PRINCE WOULDN'T BE A LEGEND WITHOUT THOSE WORKS
let's be delusional and say that 3121 is a great album... tons of eh! songs on that one
in the last four years i don't think i've had any of his last 3 in constant rotation at all. i keep saying after i'm done listening to an album..NEXT!
