This song definitely has the same chord progression as Purple Rain. The lackluster solo is played on a keyboard not on a guitar. They basically removed Princes lyrics from PR, and replaced them with their own. A.Keys did the same thing with her Purple Rain sounding song not too long ago. Even the so called Musiq did the exact same thing with the Sly & The Family Stone classic, "If you want me to stay". I believe he called his version, "Just Friends". The correct term for what they do is plagiarism.!!!!!

Justin Timberlake, Usher, Puff ... now Chris Brown .. ... all of them patterned a song on their albums after 'The Beautiful Ones' ...

TBO is poppin' up everywhere.
Justin Timbergirl has a song that samples it (I don't remember the time...for all time or something like that)
Usher has a song that kinda has the beat (Give it to me)
And then there's this song, and the one that you mentioned, Screamer lol

There is a thread about this over in the Non Prince Music forum. Just for ya'll that don't know, I'll say here what I said over on the other thread...that's NOT a guitar solo in this song..it's a keyboard solo that's executed to emulate a guitar solo. Besides a chord progression that vaguely echoes The Beautiful Ones mixed with Purple Rain...I don't hear P at all. ESPECIALLY not in the vocals.

Everybody in R&B is getting there Prince on right now. From R. Kelly's new cut 'Skin', Chris Brown, The Dream with 'Fast Car' (Now that's purple), and even Pharrell got some purple in him. I mean it all says one thing, Prince has made a strong mark in music. Prince influence is on so many people but, nobody does a record like Prince. They can come close but, no one does a record like Prince period.

Umm...no.

No disrespect to your opinion though.

And this song is wack, as expected.
"You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee
"Water can nourish me, but water can also carry me. Water has magic laws." - JCVD
