I watched it too!!!

I just bought it on sale for 10$ - and it's super biggrin

Yeah! Love the story about the Purple Rain lady, the 100 already produced songs, the making of IWD4U - and what's up with the guy crying when telling about the scene with Prince and his dad at the piano!? So emotional!

Watched the film and all the documentaries last night, and woke up this morning with a feeling of really missing out on the 80's. Seems like Purple Rain brought a serious change to music and the culture of the young generation. Would have loved to experience that... (Instead I got Britney Spears, a handful of boy bands, and a number of OD'ing rock stars...!? neutral ).

I haven't watched it in a while but it's a well put together DVD. I think the director (who cried) probably had some stuff in his past that made him emotional when he talked about that scene.

Without the scenes that were cut out, it's worthless. why even come out with a anniversary DVD without deleted scenes? it's worthless.

I watched the entire thing and liked it but I was one of those people that hoped the deleted scenes would be included.

I would buy a 25th anv. DVD that only consisted of the barn scene. lol

C'mon, now. We need some deleted scenes, the trailer is cooler than the movie, sometimes, y'know!!

I really liked listening to the commentary over the movie. But I too was disappointed in no deleted scenes.

I think you missed a lot that was there. WHy does the enjoyment have to be about Prince and only Prince. There were a lot of jems on that bonus disc. Prince wasn't involved with the special disk from the get go, not sure why you were expecting more of his cooperation.

I just love to hear Lisa Coleman talk. She's always been a mystery to me ever since I laid eyes on her back in 1979-80.

I LOVE HER!

There were so many good things on that dvd, loved the commentary too, really fascinating to hear it from that angle, and quite funny some of it! Loved Wendy and Lisa's interview, and the 'Purple Rain Lady' story gave me chills up my back I swear!! I thought what Jill Jones said about Apples was so funny 'well, she's a NICE girl but she was the only trained actor'! And yes, the Director Albert Magnoli getting emotional, but Wow! it was the first movie he directed, straight out of college, it's pretty amazing what they achieved, and with such a small budget, and the time contraints. He and Prince obviously had a strong bond, he said they sat in the car together for hours talking about the movie, and Prince really trusted him and told him some pretty personal things - well he ran Paisley Park for a little while years later didn't he?

Loved the Premiere shots and interviews - and yes ESPECIALLY seeing Blackguitaristz in the crowd and hearing his story about the whole thing, totally fascinating. Being a part of Prince history like that.... wouldn't we all have liked to have been there? Imagine the buzz! Can't remember all the other stuff straight off, but I think it's a little treasure... deleted scenes or no deleted scenes.. don't know how many times I've watched it now...! The poster who said that his/her generation is lacking something, I'm sorry but you're right.... it was SO cool growing up in the 80's cool Brilliant, my favourite Prince 'thing' that I own I think.... biggrin

I love it too! Yes, I do wish deleted scenes were on there but I really like how they have the Mtv Premiere on there. And the videos too.

I do hope they have a 25th anniversary disc with even more footage.
