Prince's heart 'ain't in it anymore

I think Prince just 'aint interested in music anymore - or at least not on the level of being a pop musician that seeks to cater to his fans.

Here's why?

- Wasting fans' time by putting TURN ME LOOSE out there, which is even less than throwaway. Reports coming from Prince's camp that the DJ played it by his own volition is further proof of his distancing from it.

- All that half-assed Bria Valente and Shelby J and Tamar silliness - none of whose albums will ever see the light of day.

- The dull as dishwater PLANET EARTH. Who's really bothered to listen to it more than few times?

- 21 Nights. OMG! MARIE CLAIRE type photoshoots of maids hanging out in hotel staircases - and a CD more focused on the skills of backing singers.

- Tired arena concerts where hits are always being played for 'the last time.' Even Prince's comments about how older fans now bring their kids along means that even he can't be bothered to energise a new audience - relying on his older fans instead.

Maybe it's crunch time. Either get back to doing what you do best - making ear-splitting fantastic and original music - or just immerse yourself in the JW bible. To me it seems obvious, based on the last few years, that the two don't mix.

Just my two cents. Sycophants don't need to respond.

And bitter folk don't need to post! 21 nites in London was only a year ago.

He was as good as ever, but i bet you missed that. Maybe your heart aint in it anymore! I got Planet Earth For free, I for one am grateful, there's a lot of tracks on it i dig.

I wish all these whiners that start threads just to moan would do one. i.e. bugger off! No point, it achieves nothing berating the man. I'm no sycophant or kool-aid man, just someone who sees sense. As a live act, the man is the man.

Why should P have to cater to anyone? He should just be writin what he's feelin at the moment. And if people don't like it, there are other choices out there:

a) britney spears
b) mariah carey
c) beyonce

so if you don't like to listen to P there are other choices.

ha-ha, yeah...why should Prince even bother to expect fans to buy his CD's and photo-books, I mean, it's only their money after all.
