Was "Turn Me Loose" a slight disappointment?

Was Prince's new song "Turn Me Loose" on Jay Leno a slight disappointment?

No indeed! I LOVED it!

A very ordinary song.....can't be a genius all of the time!

i can't say if it was a disappointment until i hear a studio version.

that, and also, i don't think we should complain when he does stuff
like this and just performs something brand new on tv.

we all have the audio by now i guess so if anything we got a new cut
where he could have easily played the 300th rendition of purple rain

it might not be the best thing he's ever done, sure, but it was nice
to hear something new imo.

Prince by the numbers, ANOTHER JB-like groove, ANOTHER weak composition.

I felt really underwhelmed by the song.

Well i instantly liked it, and i rarely like songs first time round. The groove got me instantly. Im sure its just a throwaway track - in the line of many groove orientated tracks he's written over the years - but doesnt mean you have to dismiss it because its not a "composition" like Power Fantastic.

I wasnt really into it... and still not into it.

It's a great album track for a new CD - something to keep us hoping for more new stuff soon. Be thankful that it wasn't an oldie but I couldn't see Prince doing that to Leno....

It was ok. Disappointed? A little but not too much. Turn Me Loose is nothing to run home about but nothing to dismiss immediately.
