Hi all,

i am new to this forum. I am a massive prince fan having seen him in concert a few times and also owning all his albums and rare bits and bobs. I just wanting so start a debate about how good the song is 'Something in the water (does not compute)! I used to hate this song, but i was playing 1999 a few weeks back and this song came on and i was just like 'wow'. Now i can't get enough of it. It is catchy/experimental and interesting/different and yet strangley appealing.

what does everyone else think?

Welcome to the forum. I doubt that u'd get much response at the mo - it's a well-respected song amongst fans - a favourite of mine too. Use the search engine and u'll find plenty of thoughts and analysis.

Its a song i didnt really notice or appreciate until i played the 1999 album a couple of weeks ago.now i love the song and international lover

Prince use to always use the N word, along with every other bad word in the English language. I saw a video of him on one of his birthdays, he was cussing so much I started to really get turned off!

I love the futuristic vibe on the whole song and the drumbeats make The song has this intesity that is just amazing from start to finish. Plus, you got the Alternative Version and that one which is different but along the same lines to the kind of music he was doing in 1982, is kickass too. The piano and those bell-like sounds are incredible. The song is one of Prince's best and I would so love it if he would perform it in the future.

Infact since I've had my iPod I've discovered Prince songs that I'd not paid that much attention to until they were stuck in my ear.

Another one off 1999 is Lady Cab Driver.

I wa obsessed with that song last year...

Infact I now declare 1999 to be my favourite Prince album and for years I thought it was Sign..
