“"Kiss" Complaint”

I am determined to believe that within the song, “Kiss” by Prince, the Lyrics contain a subliminal insult to females. This is my sensation during my listening experience.

The “Kiss” Lyrics follow a pattern that begins the given line with, “YOU DON’T.”

“YOU DON’T” …Have to be beautiful
“YOU DON’T“ …Need experience
“YOU DON’T” …Have to be rich
“YOU DON’T” …Have to be cool
“YOU DON’T” …Have to watch the Grammy’s etcetera.

I am not a stupid listener.

The song seems to imply that we as women are all a bunch of Bimbo’s as if “WE DON’T” quote unquote, know the difference between what “WE DON’T” have to be versus what is actually expected of us. Well I have something to say to that domineering perspective.

“I KNOW” What I am as well as,
“I KNOW” What I am not.

I am not beautiful. I am not rich. I am not experienced with astronomy, however, “I KNOW” that
“I AM” “COOL !” That is right. I am a woman that is cool with a capital “C.” So many C’s there are seven of them. And there ain’t no “Ice Cube” or “Mr.T” that could melt my understanding of this.
For any objections…”I AM COOL” because “I Said so.” So cool that Cryogenics looks like a healthy Palm Tree to me.

So in the race between sexes, and on behalf of us Bimbo’s, and “I DON’T” have to tell you that there are a lot of us….Musically speaking, this catchy tune and it’s partner insult are truly a lyrical “Kiss my ass,” frozen in time. Thank you for listening to my complaint.

Er, I think what he was saying was he didn't require superficial beauty and knowledge of current pop culture to become acquainted with him. All he asked was for a little attention or affection, basic stuff, no pressures. No worries.

I think u took it entirely the wrong way Prince dosent want to be impressed by this woman ...he just wants her time and some big sloppy kisses in the back of his car for goodness sake Is that too much to ask

no cry yoo like a long ago time when song was just on peace paper when love was true tomorrow like you lovel.

I don't see this as an insult to women but rather P understanding that women he meets often try and change themselves to what they think his ideal is.

Therefore he does not see the real woman but a mask showing her interpretation of what she imagines his ideal is. Maybe she'll feel like she has to boast about her "experience", talk dirty, does not want to discuss intellectual subjects in case she comes across as too brainy etc to gain his attention from all the other women that are trying to gain his attention at any one time.

I think he is saying, just show me who you really are and then go from there.
