Does prince ever go to other peoples gigs

Does anybody know if prince ever goes to other peoples gigs? the only one I know of is that james brown gig with wacko.

And the angels sang for him and the church bells rang for him for he had returned king of all the threads.

Yeah, they did--he got onstage and played guitar for both of them.

Prince has attended Wendy and Lisa's gigs as well( even though they are his associated artist)

Wendy: Yes. With very good cause. I probably shouldn't say who but this one person... (claps) hallelujah!
Lisa: Shall we give him a hint who?
Wendy: No. They'll have to guess
Interviewer: Er...we wouldn't be talking about Prince here would we?

madhouseman

I know this was said earlier, but Prince has attended a few Wendy & Lisa shows, specifically one that he sat 3 feet from me at Largo here in L.A. Wendy even talked about him from the stage saying something like "our old boss is here" or something like that.

We all hoped that he'd jump up on the stage and jam with them, but alas, he did not. Regardless, it was a great show.

I was hoping that he would have showed up for the Family Jamm show, but again, no dice.

Well, obviously the celebration gigs in 2000, Nikka Costa, Alicia Keys and all.

Also around 2000 or 2001 he went to a Bjork show in Minneapolis. And he was at a Graham Central Station show in 95 in NY, surrounded by bodyguards, this was before they met up. He got up on stage with Bruce's band in the 80's. He also went to the 'combo' (?) quite a lot, a club in Minnie, where Michael B and Sonny played often.

Le grind and Love4oneanother mentioned these stuff all the time (along with recipes for mint tea and the likes! wink )

I would imagine...that Prince has seen most artist's that have really made an impression musically...I would believe Prince attending shows is both out of respect and studying the music world. cool

I read that Prince showed up at a gig that Actor Gary Dourdan did with his band. I can't recall where it was but it was a long time ago.
