I did find out from Prince's security in April of 1995, after they roughed me up for getting too close to Prince (only six inches from his face). I walked up to Prince while I was inside Paisley Park and asked him to dance, next thing I know, Aaron his security guard had me almost face down.
After, I cussed out Prince and the security guards, his brother Duane and Aaron both apologized and told me they had to take precautions because Prince [then] received about 12 threatening letters a day. They didn't report it to the police because it would become public record and make the news, which would incite more stalkers to come after Prince. Stalking is negative publicity. Only crazy stars want that type of publicity. When famous people realize a stalker is serious about "If I can't have you, then nobody will have you", they call the police and have that person put away for life. | |
