This piece in the Prince oeuvre is so bizarre it took me at least something like 15 years to confirm that it was Prince--but on first listen of the last cutg of this first Madhouse Album I knew it could be none other. It combines one of the ugliest sounds in modern music--hunh! hunh!... repeated and repeated--along with one of the most beautiful--flute playing to caress your soul. The structure of the song is profoundly moving, with a final ascension to Heaven, or Peace, or sleep, or acceptance, or realization; but along the way, like leaven in bread, there's that "hunh! hunh" vocal track that adds some kind of humor (Prince used to call this type of thing "sick") that is perhaps not meant for unprepared ears, but for anybody who's attuned to Prince's genius, this is high-proof spirits indeed. Humor, love of life, bitter tragedy, endurance, endurance, action, and attainment at the end of ... something, somewhere.

In the beginning, there was God
He made the earth and the heavens
He gave us light 2 rule the day
And another light 2 rule the night
The Lord, thy God
He made, He made the seas
He made the fruit upon the tree

When He saw
When He saw that it was good
He made a man
He made a man
Only He could, only He could

God made U
God made me 2
He made us all
He made us all equally

Now U say it

God made U, God made me
He made us all equally

Wake up children
Dance the Dance Electric
There isn't much time
Who screamed?

It doesn't matter what is played... I'll be dead, as long as my loved ones are happy, I say party up! I want folks dancing and celebrating my life at my funeral, no tears, just laughter, dancing and lots of reminiscing about fun and happy memories.
