It sounds like P is using a clean setting on his guitar with a long delay setting from his BOSS pedal. By playing a couple of notes, the delay stretches it out. I've always loved his cover of this tune. He made it his own song. | |

I could be wrong, but I think it was a Cloud. Prince's sound has always been very processed and while I love the rig and tone he had back then, it can be tough discerning which axe he used on what song. Small Club version is really good but ive always said the version on Peach And Black gets overlooked. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

On the "Prince Of Paisley Park" docu, there's a live rehearsal clip of the 1988 band jamming on it. P's using his blue cloud guitar and there's plenty of delay when he plays the strings.

Is that the more mellow version? That's the version I want but could NEVER find it.  I have the small club one, which is fab in its own right, but I wanted to hear the more mellow one that they show the clip of him performing during rehearsals on Prince of Paisley Park. Then there is also the Camden clip with Mica Paris singing. That aftershow with Ron Wood is the one I have ALWAYS wanted to hear with the "Happy Birthday Cat" song. The clips alone give me goosebumps.perfection is a fallacy of the imagination... | |

I once had a boot called "Sex Machine" Pink cover with White poka dots. It was a live album from a small club show in Paris. Its had Just My Imagination on it. He had the Girls in the audience sing then the boys. Prince covered Sex Machine as well. I thought it was from around 1987, | |
