I used to HATE "God" and "Solo" -- but then just realized they're not songs one would play to introduce anyone to Prince...but if you're alone, you can get into them as they are so heartfelt.

As others have said - I think the WORST prince song ever released is "I like Funky Music" -- jesus.

A lot of Emacipation is weak, but it has some great grooves which make it listenable. Could do without the covers.
New Power Soul is one of my favorite Prince CD's - Arguably the best of the 90's.

The Gold Experience, Diamonds and Pearls and The Symbol albums all suffer from overproduction. Although 'The Most Beautiful Girl in The World' is on TGE, it was really a stand alone single. Otherwise TGE has 'SHHH' and 'Dolphin' which are highlights, the rest is Prince pop/R&B, not bad but not great.
D&P has the title track, 'Money Don't Matter 2Nite','Insatiable' and 'Willing and Able.' It loses points because of 'Cream.'

It may just be personal taste but it was great to hear Prince do an R & B rather than a pop record, a hybrid, or an experiment.

I honestly don't even mind Jughead. Sure it's stupid, but so is just about every song on D&P.

I think the whole album is an insult and a gift to fans, a self conscious pandering to people he thinks are too stupid to understand more complex themes.

But as D&P (the song) indicates, he loves us despite our stupidity

I know it's all opinion, so here's mine...

It does not get any worse than "Chelsea Rogers" and "The Lion Of Judah." Planet Earth was definitely the worse Prince album so far, but even given that as a fact the above mentioned tracks are new levels of low, a low I hoped Prince would never reach.

And I'll be the sole defender of "3 Chains Of Gold" in this thread... that song is one of Prince's finest achievements!
