"Sharp Dressed Man" and "Peach"

Today I was listening to XM radio and heard "Sharp Dressed Man" from ZZ Top and realized how similar these songs are in the foundation of the song. Has anyone else noticed that?

They're both I-IV-V chord progressions. It's a very coomon chord progression and Prince's uses it in other songs like Kiss, Delerious, You Got The Look, Alphabet St. and a few others that are probably slipping my mind right now.....
Maybe we can go to the movies and cry together

Yeah, they're pretty standard blues-based rock. There are literally thousands of similar songs.

Then try to reconcile them, if you can.
But you don't even remember, do you?"

Peach sounds like Cream, easily his worst #1 single, if you believe such a creature could exist. I was so embarrassed for Prince.
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

I wouldn't be embarrassed for Prince, but it's not my favorite "hit".

There's nothing wrong w/"Cream". I like the song, and it reminds me of T-Rex's "Bang A Gong".

You ever listen to the lyrics for starters?
sounding like "Bang A Gong" is also a problem.
It sounds like it had potential at one point but he just threw a chorus together to call it done. Then he had the nerve to release it, as if no one would care he was half-assing it.

What's the problem with the lyrics? And why would u be embarassed? That seems very silly. Seems a lot of people were glad that he was "half-assing" it since it was so successful lol. Its not my favorite Prince song but I don't hold it against him like u seem too. Why is it that so many fans seem to hold something against Prince if they are not satisfied with a certain song or album? Its as if they think Prince intentially created the the song/album to offend them. I just feel he is doing his thing. It certainly doesn't have anything to do with me.
