Prince and Orchestral Music

Why does it seem that for only one genre does Prince let Mr. Clare Fischer (sp)
do the work. Whenever it's orchestral it's always done by Fischer. Has Prince ever attempted orchestral work? What's the story?

Writing orchestral music is not something you can just "attempt". It requires a lot of specific skills, and takes years of training. Prince would definitely not be able to do it, and I don't think he's tried either.

W&L did arrange/write some string parts..... I think before Clare Fischer.

I know they did or Raspberry Beret and some string interlude on of the 80's albums.

id like to hear prince do some orchestral music....there were moments in karma sutra that were ace...but for the most part, best to let it lie in peace.
Wouldn't you love to love me?

I only listened to "Kamasutra" once, a long time ago, so I'm not 100% sure...but if I remember correctly, most of it was just orchestral sounds played on synths. And that's a different thing, something anyone can do, really.

i think there may have been a few moments of real orchestrated music...but cant be sure, think you are right on the whole though, was mostly more synth driven. overall it didnt have a very open feel, felt more small and enclosed, not very emotive music (like proper orchestral scores)

it would certainly be an interesting sight...seeing prince lead an orchestra, and a shocker if he actually could lol(i forgrt the name of the person who leads or co-ordinates the performers with the pointer)
