Prince songs that seem to parallel each other 1+1+1=3 , in my opinion, is the only real funky song on TRC.
It just croons with a sexy, dark, funky vibe. I just wish the stupid lyrics weren't so ...erm... stupid. But whenever I hear it, I can't help but think 'erotic city' redo. They sound so familiar to me in tone. I'll admit, I like the instrumentation on 1+1+1=3 better than I do on Erotic City, but I like the 'vibe' on erotic city more. Does anyone else see the similarities of these two tunes? What Prince songs do you feel almost exactly mirror each other in various ways?

I might even throw Rebirth of the Flesh in with these two. In fact, if I had really good-sounding versions of all these songs, a mega-mix of them might be in order.

Jack U off and Horny toad, yes in deed! Good one.
Dirty Mind and Controversy, yes. My input: Muse to the pharaoh - mellow mellow The work - pretty man -musicology - get on the boat Everlasting now has a bit at the end which has a similar groove to beautiful night Beautiful, loved and blessed sounds very emancipation (the album) Dorothy parker - what do you want me to do Then you have songs that are actually connected by having the same beat: Work that fat - Martika's kitchen 3121 - Funky design I never did get that NPG operator stuff on the Gold exp: "irresistable bitch, housequake and sexy mf for improving self-esteem". Last december always reminded me of broccoli! Why is that, you ask? I don't like broccoli. ![]()

i hate it when people start telling you what they think a song sounds like
compared to another one. especially when they describe new music they get to hear before anyone else. let's say "Mr Goodnight", it's on the radio somewhere and people post their 1st thoughts on the org: "yeah, i've heard "mr goodnight" and it's fONkAY!!*$ it's like some weird hybrid lovechild of HouseQuake and Mountains but much way much more cool! a$$k1cKiN!!!Tune. Word! dis tune is like Get Off gets in a bath of jellybeans with Le Grind and makes a lovebaby that will be MR GOODNITGH yay peeps check this song out when it is released it is hardcore prince 1986-1988 funk style yall!!! DAWGS> the lyrics are among the best prince ever DONE DID AND WILL DO. check them out!! he is sayin' he is spanish to. I TOLD YOU ALL ALONG haterzzzzz. now common and post me pics with princE lookin SPANIHS" man, i hate when people do that ![]() and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Why do we read 'em?! the only thing that really gets on my nerves with reviews of music by either critics or fans these days is that less than 5% actually says something about the songs or the lyrics of the new album. every single review in a magazine starts with half a page of blah about an artists back catalogue, recounting successes as far back as 1920, lol. then they drag out some of the latest gossip and in the very last 2 paragraphs they finally get round to saying some uninspired things about the new material. seldom do reviews quote more than half a line from an albums total lyrics. with prince reviews it's particularly bad with 99% of magazine and internet reviews starting about his size, then his WB fight, then his internet recluse days, some stuff about sex, some stuff about the name change and the JW and concluding: "and then we have Planet Earth. granted there is no When Doves Cry to be found here but the pint sized rocker does deliver his custom grab bag album full of funk and soul. lead single Guitar is one of his best singles since 1992's diamonds & pearls and recalls prince at his peak, adding a splash of modern hip hop mid way through the album and purple rain's cousin "lion of judah" finds prince "lying on a floor in an all white room feeling very blue" we've seen better but with prince even the crumbs are almost a complete meal" ![]() and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
