IS this statement really true???

On Allmusicguide.com, the reviewer says of Prince:

Occasionally, his music can be maddeningly inconsistent because of this eclecticism, but his experiments frequently succeed; no other contemporary artist can blend so many diverse styles into a cohesive whole.

Opinions?

I agree with this to a point. The first part of the statement is very on point, but the underlined portion is what can be disputed.

This sort of statement isn't exactly something that is true or false, but purely an opinion.

I'd imagine, on here, most will agree with that opinion. I'm unsure, as I haven't heard every other contemporary artist to see if they are as capable as Prince at doing this.
So look into the mirror, do u recognise some1? Is it who u always hoped u would become, when u were young?

I do believe that Prince has many diverse styles, that are successful in my opinion to listen to...When I have had company, and asked what emotion the person would like to feel based on music...I could alwayz choose Prince as an artist to satisfy any musical emotion.

That is the reviewer's opinion. The reviewer is trying to understand Prince's music. I think the reviwer misses the point in trying to find consistencies to Prince music. Prince does not want to be consistent. The reviewer views the inconsistencies as a negative when in many ways the inconsistencies are what makes Prince's music so unique.

So much of music is so over produced, following formulas, etc. And Prince's music does not.

In the beginning Prince did use drum machines to establish a framework to build music on but as we know over the years Prince has moved from his old controlled studio style to live drums and more free form live music for his music.

Prince is trying to capture the sound, feeling, music, inspiration he hears inside and translate it into music we all can hear, and that is hard to do and will not be consistent and will be different every time. Each moment will be precious and beautiful and unique and that is what I hear when when I hear a Prince song.

Prince loves music. I believe he appreciates all genres of music, so he likes to take the things he likes most and combine them and see what they sound like. I like the fact that he puts alot of passion into his craft. He's very dedicated to his songs. He used to always say that "his songs were like his children". Children are different, so his songs showed that. He's just a true musician, nothing more, nothing less.
