Perhaps this one?
PRINCE Strange Tales From The Rain (This elusive Warner Japanese 25-track promotional only double vinyl LP was issued to radio and industry in 1984 to promote the legendary movie Purple Rain. This rare pressing however contains the ENTIRE movie soundtrack and not just the Prince tracks that were on the commercial issue soundtrack making this the only pressing to represent the movie in it's entirety.

Or this one?
PRINCE My Name Was Prince (Without doubt the rarest Prince collectable CD, issued in '93 to promote The Hits/The B Sides compilation. This disc features 12-tracks in total, with 3 from The Hits & the rest culled from his incredible back catalogue. At the time this CD was conceived Prince & Warner's were in bitter dispute, resulting in Prince changing his name to the unpronouncable symbol , hence the ironic title of this disc! The unique cover art depicts a mannequin named Prince!).

The track with the woman crying is not God. Thats the track sometimes refered to as Bedtime Story. The version of God on Strange Tales From The Purple Rain is "God- Vocal". Which actually doesn't belong on the disc. As sides one and two were supposedly following the tracks from the movie, the 7 minute "God" should have been used instead. .

Black album 2284 Euro's (3550 USD) 1987 Pressing. 2 stickers attached to the shrink wrap. It is estimated that less than 6 copies are known to still exist today but Alan Leeds says : There are surely more than 6, they're just not in collector's circles. Prince had at least 100 and gave away most of them to band members and pals...people I know who received them included Madonna, Miles Davis, Sheena Easton, Sheila E and Kim Bassinger. Many of the Paisley staff took one each. I don't doubt that the more industrious Warner employees also managed to get one, although Warners did go on a sort of lockdown the day it was cancelled and an executive was given the responsibility to gather whatever advance copies were floating around their offices. I'd say a rare Prince album would be something listenable he's released in the last 15 years.

Gold N*gga, especially the 16 track version. (Technically an NPG album, but we know Prince was essentially behind it.)

Which EPs and LPs are the hardest to come by, or most valuable? I'm a little confused, you say you are talking about audio CD's, then say what are the hardest to come by EP's and LP's. EP's and LP's are totally different then CD's. I assume you mean either CD's or EP's and LP's. This is the rarest record in my collection: "51 hours" promo [Edited 3/15/08 10:10am] Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

I wasn't looking for the gold disc specifically, I was just looking for the album as I didn't own it and happened to buy it from there. It wasn't until a few months later that I saw it listed on a collectors site....so I checked the catalogue number.....and boom. Talk about lucky!! [Edited 3/15/08 11:13am] |

And is the SOTT remixes acetate the one that is supposed to contain the long, full version of The Ballad of Dorothy Parker ? Is the longer version of How Come U Don´t Call Me longer than the 12" version ? Do you have a scan of the Portuguese 1999 cover ? ( I´m curious about the green trenchcoat) Ever heard of a promo album called Crown Jewels ? I saw it at a record fare years ago, looked pretty legit to me. It´s not " His Majesty´s Pop Life", or is it ? " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
